Juvéderm Injectable Filler
William Franckle, MD, FACS is a full-service plastic surgery office that offers a wide range of procedures. Led by Dr. William Franckle, our surgical offerings include breast reconstruction, augmentation, lifting, and reduction, as well as face lifts, rhinoplasty, and facial implants. One of our more popular procedures is Juvederm and Juvederm XC facial fillers.
What is Juvéderm?
The Juvederm family of injectable fillers can lift, smooth, and plump for a natural-looking, youthful appearance lasting up to two years. Juvederm fillers are injectable gels that are used as filler to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles, as well as age-related facial volume loss in persons over the age of 21. It is the most requested dermal filler in the USA and it’s the first dermal filler to be FDA-approved to treat mid-face volume loss.
Soften Facial Lines and Wrinkles with Juvéderm XC
A very common area we show our age is the nasolabial folds—the lines that form a parenthesis from the nose to the mouth. As we continue to age, these lines often become more pronounced. Juvederm XC injectable filler can help soften, lift, and smooth out the nasolabial folds, and with results that can last for up to one year. Juvederm XC is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in the skin that helps to add volume and hydration.
After Your Juvéderm Treatment
There is no downtime after your Juvederm treatment and very little recovery. Some patients can experience redness or swelling in the treatment area, which subsides within a few hours. Patients that are prone to bruising may see minimal bruising at the treatment site, lasting anywhere from a few hours to a few days.
Common side effects of Juvederm are minimal and include bruising, redness, itching, tenderness, and swelling at the treatment site. These effects may be mild to moderate, and they may last for up to 14 days after treatment. Additionally, if you are nervous about bruising, try to limit strenuous exercise, extreme heat or sun exposure, and avoid alcohol for 24 hours after treatment.
Reverse Facial Volume Loss with Juvederm Voluma
Changes in the appearance of the face are a part of the normal aging process, but not everyone ages in the same way. Lines and wrinkles begin to form, and what may not be as obvious, is a reduction in facial volume. Facial skin starts to sag, and the cheeks begin to flatten, causing the face to appear older and more drawn.
Juvederm Voluma XC can help restore facial volume, creating a more youthful, lifted appearance by adding a natural-looking contour back to the cheekbone area. Patients who chose Juvederm Voluma XC to correct facial volume loss reported looking an average of five years younger after six months of treatment in a clinical study. Also, the injectable treatment was given the Beauty Expert Breakthrough Award by Allure Magazine in 2014.
Juvederm Voluma XC has been proved to last up to two years when used to treat facial volume loss. It is the only dermal filler proven to do so, and patients require fewer products to achieve the same results with follow-up treatments.
Plump and Smooth Lips with Juvederm Ultra XC
Thinning lips are another age-related change that many women struggle with. For some, thin lips are something they’ve always had and always wanted to change. Juvederm Ultra XC offers a natural-looking correction for this common complaint. The injectable gel filler can smooth lip wrinkles and plump lip volume to create a natural-looking, youthful appearance. Juvederm is the only dermal filler proven to last for up to one year in the lip area, and 78 percent of patients treated expressed satisfaction with the improvement in the look and feel of their lips one year after treatment.
