How Does ZO Skin Health Work?

The ZO Skin Health line is divided into three main phases. At your consultation with Dr. Franckle, we can decide which phase best suits your needs.

Phase 1: Getting Skin Ready (GSR) System

This system is designed to treat common skin issues such as acne, redness, dullness, and discoloration. This phase is ideal for those who are new to medical skin care and includes products to cleanse, exfoliate, and tone the skin, as well as sun protection.

Phase 2: Anti-Aging System

This phase is designed to combat fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging through clinically proven ingredients like growth factors, retinol, and enzymes.

Phase 3: Aggressive Anti-Aging System

This is a more concentrated formula meant for those who are experiencing radical signs of aging such as deep lines and wrinkles, age spots, significant sun damage, and thinning skin.

What Are the Benefits of The ZO Skin Health Skin Care Line?

These medical skin care products can help patients achieve a more youthful, radiant appearance. Each formula contains anti-oxidants that neutralize free radicals, reduce injuries caused by the sun’s rays, and reduce oil production for cleaner, clearer skin. In addition to the regimens described above, your customized skin care routine may include another product from more than 70 in the ZO Skin Health Line. Our patients who use these products typically notice results within six weeks, though signs of new cell growth may be detected in as few as two weeks.

Smart Skincare: Four Essential Sun Protection Strategies

Sun damage not only creates signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles, it also significantly increases your risk for skin cancer. Fortunately, both aging-related changes to the skin and skin cancer are largely preventable by taking measures to protect yourself from the sun’s rays. Here are four sun-related skin care tips to try. Woman in a sunhat on the beach

1. Apply sunscreen daily.

While many of us only apply sunscreen when we’ll be spending significant time outdoors, it is important to wear sunscreen every day for maximum protection from sun damage. If you’ll be outside for longer than 15 minutes, make sure to apply sunscreen of at least SPF 30 on your face and any exposed areas of the body.

2. Apply sunscreen correctly.

Just slapping on sunscreen haphazardly isn’t enough. For ideal protection from sun damage, you should apply your sunscreen at least 30 minutes before going outside and reapply every two hours, or more often if you get wet. You’ll need to use about a shot glass full of lotion to cover exposed skin sufficiently. Don’t forget often-overlooked areas like the ears, lips, face, and backs of hands. If you wear makeup, apply sunscreen underneath.

3. Check your watch.

Avoid spending substantial time in the sun during the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., when damage-causing UVA and UVB rays are the strongest. When you are outside midday, try to stay in the shade or under an umbrella as much as possible.

4. Choose clothing wisely.

The right outfit will not only make you look great, but also provide ample sun protection. Look for tightly-woven cotton clothing in a dark color for maximum blockage from the sun’s rays. Your clothes should also cover the largest area of skin possible, so wear long pants and a long-sleeved shirt, and don’t forget a wide-brimmed hat to cover your face and neck. Sunglasses that offer UV protection for your eyes are a must. Also remember that if clothing gets wet, it doesn’t provide as much protection as when the fabric is dry.

By following these steps, you can prevent sun damage, keep your skin looking young and healthy, and help lower your risk for skin cancer. At our office, we suggest investing in a great everyday sunscreen for your body and one for your face. ZO Skin Health offers a wide variety of options to easily fit into our daily routines. Feel free to shop our online ZO store or call the office to discuss what is best for your skin.

Common Skin Problems Easily Treatable With Medical Skin Care Products

Have you tried everything to heal common skin ailments? Changing your diet, reducing stress, and even testing out old wives’ tales—we’ve tried it all too! While some may see improvement from common over-the-counter skin care products, for others, these products are just not enough.

The truth is, it doesn’t occur to many people to explore medical grade products that can knock out skin challenges with ease. Such treatments, like ZO Skin Health, are non-invasive and utilize the most advanced technology to address troublesome skin ailments.

Acne & Blemishes

Acne is a common issue that can persist through adolescence and into adulthood. Although there seems to be a new exfoliating or oil-reducing solution for sale at the drug store each week, medical skin care products are more likely to reduce problematic acne at its root and eliminate it altogether. Often, multiple products work together to treat blemishes as a system. Deep-pore masks can absorb oils and unclog pores, while ingredients like glycerin and tea extracts can gently hydrate and replenish antioxidants in the skin.

Lines & Wrinkles

Fine lines and wrinkles will eventually affect everyone, but when they spring up prematurely, it can add years to even the healthiest skin. Medical-grade skin care treatments can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and restore a healthy, tight appearance to the face. Using active ingredients like retinol, these products spark collagen production to increase elasticity and even out skin tone. A full system of ZO Skin Care products can help reduce other common signs of aging, such as dark spots or sun damage.

Dry Skin

In addition to having effects on the physical appearance of skin, dry skin can be itchy and irritating. In reality, there are a number of different genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors that can contribute to this trait. Medical skin care products can restore lipids in the epidermis and enhance natural oils to highlight a more youthful appearance. Additionally, overnight recovery creams can help reduce redness and even out skin tone.

When looking into medical grade skin care, it’s always best to schedule a consultation with a board-certified physician, like Dr. Franckle, who can properly diagnose skin ailments and determine the best course of action.
